PDP Should Resolve Crisis Internally, Not Blame Tinubu, Says George Turnah

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, George Turnah, has urged the party to address its internal issues without blaming President Bola Tinubu.
In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, Turnah pointed out that the PDP had denied a former Jigawa State governor a nomination for its convention. He said the party should focus on self-correction rather than involving the president.
“When people struggle for control of the party’s structure, it’s politics. What matters is that the National Working Committee (NWC) remains fair and ensures a level playing field,” Turnah explained.
He added that problems arise when the NWC becomes “an interested party.”
Turnah also questioned the legality of the PDP’s recent convention in Ibadan, describing it as “a social gathering” with no INEC presence.
He called on the PDP to act responsibly, ensure fairness within its ranks, and resolve its crisis internally.
